The Rainbow Baby Project: A Free Newborn Session for Western Mass Families

Every rainbow baby arrives after a storm. Today I'm sharing something very close to my heart: The Rainbow Baby Project, a free newborn session each month for one family in our community.

What is a rainbow baby?

A rainbow baby is a baby born to a family after a pregnancy, stillbirth or infant loss. The storm doesn't disappear, but the rainbow reminds us that beauty and hope can still come after the darkness.

Why I'm doing this

This project honors my own pregnancy loss and my rainbow baby, Mila Giselle. I know how much it means to welcome a baby after heartbreak, and I wanted to give back to the families in my community in a way only I can: through my photography.

Through special rainbow props and setups, I get to honor your rainbow journey during the session. For many families, these sessions are tender and emotional. I hold space for that, and I hope the session brings some comfort.

What's included

Each month I choose one family from the list of applicants. The selected family receives:

  • One free newborn session at my Chicopee studio

  • Two rainbow themed setups, with styling and props I create

  • Three professionally edited images to keep, free of charge

How to apply

Fill out the short application on The Rainbow Baby Project page. I'll ask for your due date, since newborn sessions are best within baby's first two weeks, and you can share as much or as little of your story as you're comfortable with. I read every application personally and will reach out by email to the family I choose. A signed model release is required for the selected family.

If you're expecting a rainbow baby, I'd be honored to meet you. And if you know a family who could use a little light right now, please share this with them.

With love,
